ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Panthers are already looking towards the SIFL playoffs in two weeks.
But there is still some unfinished business when the Panthers close out the regular season against the Columbus Lions Saturday night.
With top seed in the playoffs wrapped up, Panthers head coach Luscious Davis plans to sit receiver Clenton Rafe and defensive back Levance Richmond for a second straight week so they will have three weeks to be healthy for the playoffs. The Panthers say they do have pride and that will have them going to Columbus to win.
Defensive back Demetrie McCray said. "We need a win. We are going to go in there with that mindset. We are going to come out with a victory hopefully."
Head coach Luscious Davis "I want to win. I want to have the best record in the league. Yea I want to win. It is straight business."
The Panthers host the loser of Saturday's Louisiana/Lafayette game in the first round of the SIFL playoffs on July 10th.
