Athens- An appeal to restore the eligibility of Georgia basketball players Rashad Wright and Chris Daniels was granted today by the NCAA.
The two players are now fully eligible, without further penalty, to play next season.
Wright and Daniels, both seniors, were declared ineligible for competition on March 10, one day after Georgia's 2002-03 regular season was completed.
An appeal to reinstate them was recently filed to the NCAA Student-Athlete Eligibility Committee, which granted the appeal.
''I'm extremely happy for Chris and Rashad,'' head coach DennisFelton said. ''I have found them to be outstanding young men, and this has been a very trying episode in their lives. Chris and Rashad will both graduate next spring and I believe they will become shining examples of what it means to earn a degree from a great university like Georgia.''
Daniels, from Albany, averaged 9.8 points and 7.1 rebounds, shooting a team-high 54 % last season.
Wright averaged 7.8 points per game and led the team in assists for the third straight year.
He needs just 62 assists next season to become the school's career leader.
