ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The evidence is stacked high against the suspect accused of burglarizing homes in South and central Lee County.

Dustin Wellington is the man Lee County investigators think has been burglarizing homes and stealing expensive items for months.

They recovered about thirty thousand dollars worth of stolen goods.

The sheriff himself helped close this case when pulled over Dustin Willington after seeing the vehicle witnesses noticed at many of the burglary locations.

Wellington had several of the stolen items in his truck.

"We received a lot of information from citizens who have been seeing this particular truck in the neighborhood or the driveway that just got hit, we were able to get a good description," said Sheriff Reggie Rachals, Lee County.

The sheriff says you should copy serial numbers and take pictures of your belongings so you can claim them if they're stolen then recovered.
