ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A candidate for State Representative gave away hot dogs and lemonade to potential voters who stopped to talk to him Friday.

Freddy Grimsley and his supporters waved to drivers and handed out the free treats at his campaign headquarters on Slappey Boulevard.

Grimsley is running in the district 151 Democratic primary.

He says he's working to show voters he's the best candidate for the job.

"We are not taking the campaign lightly and will not to take the voters lightly, we're going out and asking for their support, be engaged with the public and see what they want and take their ideas to Atlanta," said Freddy Grimsley, State Representative Candidate.

Grimsley is running against incumbent Carol Fullerton.
