WARE COUNTY, GA (WALB) - Two southwest Georgians are in jail and accused of plotting to smuggle drugs and other contraband into Ware State Prison in Waycross.

Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal says an inmate tried to bribe a correctional officer to get him to bring drugs from his friends into the prison.

Officers set up a sting at a convenience store in Waresboro.

They arrested 36-year old Perry Hopkins of Albany and 36-year-old Margaret Cunningham of Camilla and confiscated a half pound of marijuana, 10-cell phones, and $500.

Both suspects face multiple charges including possession of marijuana and intent to distribute.
