ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany race car driver Skip Nichols will have to wait anothe week to try to become the winningest Thursday Thunder driver at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Nichols beaten at the finish line by inches in the Masters Division of this week's Thursday Thunder series.
Nichols remains currently tied with Doug Stevens at 27 wins.
Stevens coincidentally now prepares Nichols' car for the races each week.
Nichols has been racing in a variety of series since the 1960's.
He says he races not for wins but for the fun and the time he spends with his family.
Skip Nichols said. "It is a testament to the way I drive. I drive somebody the way I want them to drive me. I am an aggressive driver but I am not one of those drivers that is going to knock somebody out of the way to gain a position."Skip Nichols is also planning to race in big Legends Series event in Charlotte in July.
