ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A man is in jail, charged with a stabbing at an Albany motel Wednesday night.

Shortly before ten o'clock, Albany Police responded to the Krispy Kreme at Pine Avenue and Slappey Boulevard.

47-year-old John Payne told police he was stabbed in the abdomen with a screwdriver across the street at the Mabry Motel.

Police arrested 48-year-old Sam Rodish and charged him with aggravated assault.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the stabbing.
