ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  We now know the identity of a woman was found dead in a room at the Regency Motel in Albany Monday afternoon.

Police have identified the woman as 43 year old Cindy Gilbert of Sumner. Gilbert's body was sent to the crime lab in Macon for an autopsy.

She was found in room 217 at the Regency on Oglethorpe just after noon by management, but police say she didn't rent the room.
