Albany -- Resurfacing will begin Thursday on one of Albany's busiest roads.

Over the next two months, Gillionville Road will be resurfaced from the Calhoun County line to Slappey Drive. Widening of Gillionville Road from Lockett Station Road to Beattie Road is now underway. The paving will begin at the Calhoun County line tomorrow, and drivers are warned to use caution.

Georgia Department of Transportation Engineer Van Morris said " We are going to have the barrels and the cones and lots of equipment and labor out there. Just look for the flag men and obey them, to slow down or to stop."

When the Gillionville Road project is finished, resurfacing work will begin on Jefferson Street from Broad Avenue to Philema Road.
