Sparks man arrested in murder case

May 7, 2003

Albany-- A second man has been arrested for the murder of an Albany man January 4th behind a popular nightspot.

Investigators continue their search for a third man wanted in that murder. Twenty-six-year-old Broderick Wilcox of Sparks was charged with murder Monday, and is being held in the Dougherty County Jail.

Investigators say Wilcox masterminded the murder of Xavier Hines. He was shot January 4th behind the House of Jazz on West Highland Avenue. Hines owed Wilcox money in a drug deal, and Investigators say that is why he was killed.

Thirty-year old Albert Smith is still wanted in the Hines murder.

Investigators think he actually shot Hines to death. They think he is hiding out in Florida.
