ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Sylvester Police caught a suspected armed robber Thursday afternoon. When they showed up at the business, the suspect was still inside.
He got away but he didn't get far. Investigator Calvin Cleveland knew something wasn't right when he responded to a call at Big Daddy's T-shirt Shop around 12:30 Thursday afternoon. The open sign was on, but the front door was locked.
"He ran from us immediately when we made contact at the front door," said Cleveland.
Cleveland says 46-year old Earl Farley Sr. had a gun and demanded money from the people inside. He searched the whole place for the suspect.
"Yea, I was searching through the ceiling trying to locate the subject," Cleveland added.
Witnesses told police Farley ran out the back of the business. Investigators caught him 10 minutes later on North Henderson street. Farley has a long criminal record, including cocaine possession, obstruction of an officer, and theft.
Investigators found several hundred dollars on Farley. They believe that's the money he stole at the T-shirt shop.
