Sherwood movie filming progresses despite heat

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –The scorching heat has not slowed filming of Sherwood Baptist Church's latest movie, "Courageous."

Despite temperatures near 100 degrees and high humidity, the film makers say they are still right on schedule.

Wednesday the film makers were at Gillespie Park in South Albany filming stunt scenes including one in which a patrol car screeches up as deputies chase a suspect.

"Courageous" writer/producer Stephen Kendrick said "We're shooting some action sequences now, and they take a lot of preparation to keep everybody safe. So we brought in a professional stuntman from Canada, and he's been helping us organize the stunt scenes so that everybody is safe, but we get what we need from the movie."

The film company set up a big tent for neighbors to be able to watch filming out of the heat.

This is the 30th day of filming.   Shooting is scheduled to wrap up after five more days of filming.
