LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -  Lee County's Thomas Nichols fulfilled one dream by playing baseball at Georgia Tech.

Now he is ready to pursue another.

The Georgia Tech baseball standout signed his contract to play with the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday night.

The signing comes one week after the Angels drafted Nichols in the 18th round.

Thomas Nichols ended his Georgia Tech career on a big note leading the jackets in hitting and earning second team all-acc honors.

Nichols now heads to Orem Utah and the Pioneer League.

It is the first stop in Nichols goal of making the major leagues.

Thomas Nichols said. "Just learning how to stay even keel through success and through some hard times. It is a grind playing 160 games as we were talking about earlier. Just keep a level head on focus on the main goal."

Thomas Nichols is one of 10 Georgia Tech players drafted last week.
