ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A Colquitt County man is found not guilty of murder in an October 2009 shooting.
The jury deliberated for ten hours Friday and Monday before finding Andre Richardson not guilty on six counts including malice murder. In testimony jurors heard how 45 year old Andre Richardson pulled a gun during an argument with 29 year old Curtis Lee Coasey, Junior and shot him twice.
Richardson admitted to the shooting, but told jurors Coasey had pistol whipped him earlier that morning over three dollars owed for crack cocaine. Richardson claimed it was self defense.
Tuesday some of Coasey's family members were upset with the verdict and said Richardson should have gone to prison.
