The club is the merging of the Albany Hotspurs and Redstar youth soccer programs.
Deerfield-Windsor soccer coach Aly Joslin will serve as a coach the Flint River squad and will get help for other local coaches including Darton's Ken Veilands and athletic director Mike Kiefer who is a former college soccer coach.
Joslin says the 12-and-under teams will be working on the fundamentals and having fun.
The goal for the older level players is to develop those players into college prospects.
Another thing that should help the program is playing other club programs in the region.
Aly Joslin said. "The way we are going to get our kids better is by bringing the best players into together. Letting them play together and play on a regional stage. Where they will be going into Florida and staying in Georgia but also not traveling too far out of state where we can bring teams into here and we can do what we can do locally."
More than 100 players turned out for the first night of evaluations and coach Joslin says any player interested in the Flint River Soccer Club can get more information at their website.
