ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Two masked men forced their way into an east Albany home and beat a 29-year old woman who refused to give them her purse.

When Celedonia Vicente answered a knock at her mobile home door at Paradise Village,  two men pushed their way inside.

They tried to grab her purse, but Vicente held onto it even when one of the men hit her in the face.

The men left empty handed. Vicente was treated at the hospital but is okay.

Police warn you always to check outside your door before opening it.  Dougherty County Police Captain Jimmy Sexton said "Unfortunately these days you need to be very careful before you open the door. You need to look, and if you don't know the person, they look suspicious in anyway, don't open the door. And contact the Police Department."

No arrests have been made in the home invasion robbery attempt.
