ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Kids in Albany now have something else to do this summer.

The city finally reopened the Riverfront skate park Friday. It's been closed since December. The former manager moved away at the beginning of the year.

It's now open Tuesday through Saturday and it's free.

"I guess that's really not common for a skate park to be open in a town like this," said skater, Jake Jones. "I like it and I'm glad it's open so now I can just skate with my friends."

The Parks and Recreation Department will operate the park until new manager Lane Rosen takes it over.

Hours of operation are:

Tuesday            1:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.

Thursday           1:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.

Friday                1:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.

Saturday           10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.
