Panthers can clinch top seed in Lafayette

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Panthers have already clinched one home playoff game in the SIFL.

This weekend the Panthers can clinch homefield advantage for the first round and championship game.


All the Panthers have to do is win at Lafayette or have Columbus lose at home Saturday night to Greenville.

Clinching homefield in Lafayette will not easy.

The Wildcatters are unbeaten at home and have won three straight.

The Panthers though want to wrap up homefield advantage.




Defensive back Demetrie McCray said "The record speaks for itself at home. We are undefeated at home. The fans have been good for us. We want to use that to our advantage for the playoffs."

Quarterback Cecil Lester said. "It means a lot just to have games down here in front of our fans in Albany. Give those guys a good showing on the season. It would mean a lot to us."


Game time is 8:00 p.m. on Saturday in Lafayette.
