S. GA woman turns 104

May 4, 2003

Lee County- Elsa Bjorck was born in 1899 in Stockholm, Sweden. She and her late husband Carl came to America in 1923, and settled in Albany in 1947.

Bjorck worked for Blue Springs Plantation as a cook. She made dinners for many dignitaries who hunted on the land, including President Eisenhower.

She tells us her secret to long life. "Be happy about what you're doing. That means a lot," she says.

Bjorck also says eating healthy has been a key to her long life. She never had children, but remains very close to her church family.
