Albany- The stage is all set up for the Grown Folks Nite Out concert featuring The Coasters and The Platters. Organizers are hoping to make this sock-hop event an annual one.
Checkered table cloths and classic cars aren't the only things organizers brought back for the event, they even brought back "The King."
"I think Elvis fits right in with the old 50's and 60's sound. That's about when he came into his popularity. So, we kind of feel like with this kind of music and us grown folks, its called grown folks night out, so we feel like we're getting our chance to shine a little bit with some of these old songs,"says Elvis impersonator, Kenn Blankenship.
In addition to the concert there will be a dance competition and contest for the best oldies outfit. Tickets are still available at the Civic Center. The concert begins at 7:30 PM.
