Lee County- Hundreds of kids enjoy a day of horseback riding, as they prepare for the Georgia Special Olympic Games. The Southwest Georgia Therapeutic Riding Center sponsored an equestrian day for mentally and physically handicapped students.

Students competed in riding contest and obstacle courses. Many parents say this event is helping their children develop more confidence and self-esteem.

Shermaine Giles son, Ty, is a seventh grader at Worth County Middle. He'll be competing the special Olympics in August and November.
