ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany company is expanding and will control a majority of John Deere equipment sales in Georgia.

Flint Equipment Company bought Atlanta base METRAC Industrial Equipment Company which at one time was John Deere's most successful retailer.

Flint Equipment closed the deal Monday to buy all six METRAC locations in Georgia.

"We'll be adding about 100 people, the majority of sales and management staff will be retained, we'll continue to do the accounting here and corporate headquarters will be here in Albany, Keith Hutchins, Flint Equipment Co. Corporate Controller.

Hutchins says even though business isn't the best right now the company has a great relationship with their creditors, and that enabled them to make the deal.
