Huge tree limb falls on Albany home

By Jim Wallace - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An East Albany woman got a noisy wake up Sunday morning, when a huge limb fell across the roof of her home.

Take a look at the size of this oak limb that broke off the tree, and fell on top of the home Cynthia Inman rents on East Broad Avenue.

The limb, probably weakened by recent storms, crashed through her roof about 3 AM. Take a look from inside her attic where it broke through. Inman was asleep in the bedroom right below.

Inman said "We were asleep and heard something like a boom, and we didn't know what it was until we went outside, and heard that a whole tree had fallen on my house."

Inman had to put pots and pans on her bed to catch the rain water that fell Sunday through the hole in the roof. The home is managed by B and B Rentals, who had a crew cutting up the limb Monday afternoon.
