The Albany High Squaws officially have a new head coach.
The Dougherty County Board of Education approved the recommendation to hire Screven County head coach Tully Hall Wright.
Wright is no stranger to local basketball fans.
She was a member of the Dougherty High team that finished second in the state almost a decade ago.
Wright also coaches track and plans to meet with her new team when she is in Albany for the state track meet next week.
Tully Hall Wright succeeds Tommy Stephenson who retired last year.
Albany High assistant principal Chris Wood served as an interim coach of the Squaws this past season but could not continue the job on a permanent basis due to a new policy that prohibits high school administrators from coaching.
