Smash and grab thief burglarizes Pit Stop store

By Jim Wallace - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A bandit smashes into a Dougherty County Convenience Store early Wednesday morning, and it's all caught on video tape. Now Police ask that you help catch this bold thief.

Take a look at this. What Police think is a teenager between 15 to 18 years old, throws a concrete block through the front door of the Pit Stop convenience store on Sylvester Road about midnight.

The thief has a towel over his head trying to hide his face, and orange and white garden gloves to keep from leaving finger prints. He loads up with cigarettes, stuffing them down into his pants, and then grabs beer out of a cooler. He goes out the door, then comes back in for another couple of brews.

During his break in, his towel falls off and you can see his face. If you can identify this thief, there is a reward.

Call CRIME STOPPERS at 436-TIPS, or the Dougherty County Police at 430-6600.
