Albany-- A pack of wild dogs attacks the Albany State University mascot. This is the Ram, nicknamed Asu (A-sue). This morning, wild dogs dug under the ram's cage on the ASU campus and started mauling the animal.

Asu broke through the fence to escape the dogs. Two students saw the attack and quickly called campus police. "We saw the dogs and just couldn't believe they were attacking the Ram. We ran and got the campus police."

"We love that Ram, he's represents our school. We'll be praying for him."

Campus Police scared off the dogs and rushed the Ram to Companion Animal Hospital. Asu suffered several puncture wounds, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The school is already planning to build a more secure cage for the beloved mascot.
