ADEL, GA (WALB) - Calhoun High clearly had momentum after their dramatic come from behind win in game two of the AA state championship series that forced Tuesday's third and deciding game for the state title.
The Yellow Jackets showed off their powerful lineup with three homeruns in an 8-2 win over the Hornets.
Calhoun scored two runs on a homerun by Jordan Poole in the first.
Cook's Palmer Betts got the Hornets on the board with a homerun in the fourth.
The Yellow Jackets got that run back and another on a bases loaded double by Zach Bradley in the fifth.
Kaleb Cowart plated D.J. Johnson on a single in the bottom of the frame.
Calhoun got their fourth homerun of the series with a three-run blast in the sixth and Zach Bradley hit his second homer of the series in the seventh.
It is third AA state title for Calhoun since 2000 and they finish the season 35-1.
Cook finishes 31-5.
