ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  An East Albany man struck it big in the Georgia Lottery. 56-year-old Bland Brooks won $400,000 on a scratch-off ticket.

Brooks bought the ticket at the M. D. Food Mart on East Oglethorpe. He won while playing the 20X The Money instant game.

Store clerk Sarj Patel was there when it all went down.

"Oh... he was excited," said Patel. "He was so excited he didn't know what to do.  He almost...he didn't even faint or nothing...but he was like was nervous about it.  He just said thank you. I don't know what he is going to do with it, but that guy's happy right now."

Brooks told the lottery corporation he plans to invest the money.
