Gas price drops in time for Memorial Day

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Some good news for your Memorial day travel plans: gas prices are actually going down.

This week at Woodall's in Albany, prices dropped below $2.60 a gallon for the first time in quite a while.

A price of $2.57 may make it easier for you to fill up your tank.  "That's a good thing, because they've been kind of high lately and that's easy on my pockets, I think that's a good thing," said Sherod Johnson.

It may be a little easier on the wallet, but prices are still much higher than they were a year ago when gas averaged $2.26 a gallon.
