ADEL GA (WALB) - Cook High's state championship series with Calhoun will not start until Monday.
Under Georgia High School Association guidelines, the championship series are supposed to be played on Friday and Saturday.
Cook High coach Bob Owsley says Calhoun High has graduation on Friday night.
The two schools will now play games one and two on Monday in Adel starting at 4:00 p.m. and the third game if played is Tuesday.
After coming so close in the last ten years, coach Bob Owsley is glad his Hornets will play for the title in his final season as the Cook High coach.
Bob Owsley said. "Well this is what you look for. I have been looking for this for a long time and we are there."
Cook High will host Calhoun with a doubleheader on Monday and a third game on Tuesday.
In the GISA, Citizens Christian and Crisp Academy play game one of their class a championship series at 4:30 p.m. Friday and game two is 1:00 p.m. Saturday with a third game if needed to follow game two.
