ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Friends and family members celebrated the Shriners' service to children Saturday night. Shriners held the annual Potentate Ball Saturday.
Potentates from Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee attended the celebration. This year's 2010 Potentate says now is a time for everyone involved in Shriners to celebrate the thousands of kids who are living today thanks to Shriners Hospitals.
Shriners help burn victims and kids with crippling diseases and cleft lips. Shriners started in 1922. Since then, more than 700,000 kids have had operations at no cost.
