ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Citizens and community leaders showed up for a special town hall on Saturday.

Candidates for Dougherty County District two and district six school board positions, the district six county commission position, Georgia and US House of Representatives, and gubernatorial David Poythress addressed the crowd.

Poythress said the state looses millions because of its inadequate tax collection system, and says Georgia needs to focus on jobs and economic development.

"We've got to look at economic development as a statewide issue, we can't just see jobs going into the metropolitan Atlanta region, we can't just think of water in terms of Atlanta, we've got to think about all of Georgia; Columbus, Albany," said David Poythress, (D) Gubernatorial Candidate.

The town hall was hosted by Albany City Commissioner Jon Howard.
