PHOENIX, AZ (WALB) - The Darton College golf team knew they needed a low round to win a fourth National Junior College Division II golf title out in Phoenix, Arizona Friday.
Head coach Dale Dover says winds in the Phoenix area were blowing at 20 miles per hour and higher. The high winds led to high scores. Darton shoots a 316 and the Cavaliers finish 4th. Their worst finish in the nationals in six years. South Mountain wins the national title. Head coach Dale Dover still proud of his young team for their improvement all season. Roy Steinberg and Jared Wagenaar both earn second team All-American honors for Darton. NJCAA DII Golf Darton scores
