Former Americus High and Florida State defensive end Alonzo Jackson is now a Pittsburgh Steeler. Shortly after 7 o'clock Saturday night the Steelers selected Jackson with the 59th pick overall. He was the 27th player chosen in the second round.
Jackson, a 6-4 266 pound defensive end, will most likely play linebacker for the Steelers. He says he worked out at both the defensive end and linebacker position at the combine. Jackson was the Steelers second pick on Saturday, they selected Southern Cal safety Troy Polamalu with the 16th overall pick in the first round.
