ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  There was quite a mess on Palmyra Road Thursday morning when a mistake by construction crews sent water gushing from the street like Old Faithful.

Water shot above the tree tops along Palmyra Road just before 11:00 AM Thursday.

Crews working on the new U-Save-It Pharmacy were trying to remove a tree. The tree's roots were wrapped around the water lines running under Palmyra Road.

The workers pulled out a valve sending the water gushing. Crews worked quickly to get the line capped. Two lanes of Palmyra Road were closed while they finished the work.
