(Savannah-AP) -- For all its history, Savannah had never seen big-time golf until the Champions Tour arrived today.
Then, thunderstorms washed out most of the first round in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
Still, it will remain a 54-hole event.
The first round was scheduled to resume at 7:30 a-m tomorrow with those in the 55-player field already on the course, before the 9:13 a-m rain delay, resuming their positions.
The second round was to begin about 1:30 p-m, sending players off both the first and tenth tees.
Tournament director Bruce Sudderth says the regular cart rule for the over-50 set would be waived for tomorrow's two rounds, meaning players and caddies may use carts.
Caddies normally aren't allowed to use carts on the senior circuit.
