Valdosta man convicted in federal court

VALDOSTA:  Kenyon Rizer, age 34, of Valdosta, Georgia, was convicted after a two-day jury trial on Thursday, May 13, 2010 before the Honorable Louis Sands, District Judge.  

Rizer was found guilty on two counts of drug distribution in violation of Title 26 United States Code, Section 841 (a)(1).  Sentencing will be scheduled by the Court at a later date.

The evidence introduced at trial established that Rizer sold more than 50 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover police source on two separate occasions during the month of September, 2007.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration  along with the Valdosta Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael K. Dennard, United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Georgia.
