ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Crisp County authorities are searching for a man who escaped from a patrol car Monday.

Officers started following Kenneth Carter after he ran into a wooded area.

After a brief foot chase, Carter was arrested and officers discovered he had eight outstanding warrants for fraud.

As Carter was running, he threw items out of his pocket so officers locked the car, with Carter inside, and left an officer to watch for him.

But when they came back to the car he was gone, and the officer watching says he did not see anyone come out of the car.
