ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A North Georgia state representative brought his campaign for State Insurance Commissioner to Albany today.
Republican Tom Knox of Forsyth County is running to replace John Oxendine who's running for governor.
Knox, an attorney, with ten years in the state house says he has the experience necessary for the job.
"We know we have ObamaCare coming. I'm not sure exactly whether that's going to pay out the way everybody thinks it is. We can't just stop providing for the healthcare of the people of Georgia. I think it's vitally important we have someone who knows what the issues are and how to address them," said Knox.
Knox served as chairman of the House Insurance Committee since 2005.
He'll challenge 8 other Republican candidates in the July primary.
