ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The United Way of Southwest Georgia recognizes the people who gave their money and time to help organizations carry out their missions over the past year.
Employers who operated campaigns to give to the United Way in 2009 were thanks at the United Way's annual luncheon Monday. The top 12 contributing companies were recognized for the exceptional giving by their employees.
Combined, they gave close to $600,000. Half of that came from employees at Procter and Gamble who contributed $293,000 for 2009. United Way of Southwest Georgia contributes to more than 20 community partners.
