Parked cars totaled during late night wreck

ASHBURN, GA (WALB) – Angela Office had to get a rental car on Saturday; she showed WALB pictures of two wrecked cars still in her front yard on Carlos Avenue in Ashburn.

The crash happened just feet from her bedroom, shortly after 3AM.

As Angela and her husband were sleeping a man plowed his car into their parked vehicles.

"Everyone is shocked but glad no one was hurt, the way it looks it could have been either way," said Office.

Ashburn Police said the driver who slammed into the two vehicles during the night tried to escape.

"I was on the porch, I saw him get out and walk away," said Office.

He somehow made his way to a Tifton hospital for treatment.

As Ashburn police try to piece together what caused the driver to crash, Angela says she's glad he slammed into something that can be replaced.

"Initially I was mad, at the end of the day they're cars, that's why you have insurance," said Office.

By late Saturday afternoon police did not release the name of the driver who caused the wreck.
