TAMPA, FL (WALB) - Valdosta State pitcher Brett Kennedy allowed just one run in seven innings in the Blazers 6-3 win over West Florida in the first round of NCAA DII regionals Thursday.
Former Darton College Cavalier Jake Summers drove in two runs with two hits.
Blazers face regional host Tampa on Friday.
Albany State was hanging with #1 Southern Arkansas for five innings.
Muleriders break open a close game with a three-run sixth and win 6-1.
Larry Johnson took the loss with his defense committing four errors.
Albany State plays in the elimination bracket Friday afternoon.
