LEESBURG,  GA (WALB) – Some Lee county law enforcers got up early to run for a good cause Thursday morning.

The Lee county Sheriff's office held it's 2nd annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Georgia.

The group started at the courthouse, crossed the railroad tracks, and ran down Highway 19 ending at the Flash Foods where they passed the torch to Dougherty County.

"Our goal was $5,000 or better and right now we're above $5,000 we're at $5,377. And we can still take donations all the way up to July 15th," said Sheriff Reggie Rachals.

If you want to donate, contact the Lee county Sheriff's office.
