ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The Dougherty County Library's main branch will be closed this weekend for renovations.

The library on Pine Avenue will close at noon Saturday and reopen Monday morning.

Workers will replace the heating and air conditioning unit, leaving the building without proper ventilation while the work is being done.

"This will help us maintain heating and cooling throughout the building, on Sunday the 100 Block of N. Jackson Street is going to be closed while a crane is brought in to help in the project," said Ashley Moore, Dougherty Co. Public Library Asst. Dir.

Library managers encourage the public to use the other locations around Albany while the downtown branch is closed.
