ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State has packed a slingshot and a bag rocks in their trip to the NCAA DII South regional in Tampa.

It is the Rams first regional appearance in four years and coach Edward Taylor's team knows they are underdogs.

Albany State is the last seed in the eight team regional.

It also earns the Rams a first round game against top seed Southern Arkansas who has been ranked number one in the country.

The Rams are making it clear that they are ignoring seeds and are going to Tampa to win their way to the DII World Series.

Edward Taylor said. "We are going there to compete and win. We are not just going to be satisfied with just going. That is well and good to go. We are trying to compete and win a game. Win a couple of games to be honest with you."

Albany State plays at 4:30 p.m. Thursday against Southern Arkansas at the University of Tampa.
