ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State tennis coach John Hansen has been named national coach of the year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Blazers tennis team is ranked number one in the nation and opens play against Queens College at the DII national tournament in Altamonte Springs, Florida Wednesday afternoon.

Lady Blazers senior Natali Gumbrecht was named the south regional player of the year.
