MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) – Moultrie Technical College is waiving the application fee for workers at the Tifton Shaw Industries plant that's about to shut down.

The fee is only $15, but MTC Vice President of Student Affairs Scott Hudson said waiving it "is just a small gesture we can extend to Shaw's hard-working employees. But it is only the beginning of what we hope to offer them in terms of education and getting back out in the workforce with new and updated skills."

Most of those workers will also qualify for Georgia's HOPE grant or scholarship.
