BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) – A Bainbridge mom spent part of Mother's Day behind bars after leaving her infant child locked in a hot car.

21-year old Shamyra Little of Bainbridge left her 4 month old baby unrestrained in her black Ford Explorer while she hit the Kmart closing sale Sunday.

Another shopper heard the baby's cries and called 911. Public Safety officers arrived and used an antenna to unlock the car through a partially open window.

After about 15 minutes in the vehicle with outside temperatures in the high seventies, officers say the baby was hot to the touch and sweating but checked out OK.

Little is charged with reckless conduct.
