ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany non-profit is working on a quarter of a million dollar grant to refresh its mission, and you can help.
Chosen to Conquer was started by Colette Jenkins after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a disease that effects the central nervous system.
Part of her work helps women who've been diagnosed with chronic diseases or cancer improve their self-esteem through consultations and makeovers. Jenkins is now in the running for a grant through the Pepsi Refresh project which will help her carry out her mission.
She said, "It's about refreshing. Make up for life is refreshing that individual, that woman that has been affected by the diagnosis of MS, heart disease and breast cancer. We want to refresh that lady."
