Salvation Army relief drive for Nashville

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Albany's Salvation Army will begin a relief drive Tuesday for the people of Nashville who have been devastated by flooding.

Many South Georgians remember all the damage caused by floods here in 1994 and 1998

They also remember the outpouring of help that came in from all over the country.

Now many of those same South Georgia flood victims want to pay it forward, and they're asking you to donate cleaning and baby supplies for flood victims in Tennessee.

The Salvation Army Captain Douglas McClure said "We want to make sure that we're helping other people who are going through the same thing we have gone through here locally. And reach out and really make a difference in their lives."

The Salvation Army will collect the supplies at the Cumulus Broadcasting parking lot at North Slappey and West Broad tomorrow through Friday from 10 A-M to 6 P-M.

The Salvation Army also needs volunteers to man the donation trailer.

The supplies will be taken to Nashville this weekend.
